Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Red Mountain Theatre Company Cabaret Theatre 301 19th Street North , Birmingham, Alabama 35203
Birmingham, Ala. The Alabama Rivers Alliance and Alabama Environmental Council will host the 10th annual Birmingham screening of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Sunday, October 22 at Red Mountain Theatre Company Cabaret Theatre.
The centerpiece of Alabama's Wild & Scenic program is a curated selection of award-winning films from the national Wild & Scenic Film Festival. The films cover a variety of topics including: community organization, land preservation, sustainable agriculture, wildlife appreciation, family bonding through adventure, unsung environmental heroes like former President Jimmy Carter, fracking, and more.
This year’s event will continue our mission to combine conversation and film with a panel of local and regional experts on hand to answer questions and provide solutions for issues Alabamians face every day. We will also feature a “Best Of” Southern Exposure Film Fellowship program, highlighting films from the last five years of this important program in Alabama and the successes that arose from those films.
“For ten years running, it has been a highlight to bring these films to Alabama to spur conversation and action,” said Cindy Lowry, executive director of Alabama Rivers Alliance. “This is a great time for us to see and hear amazing stories about people around the world celebrating the great outdoors and creative solutions to care for the environment. The films are always inspiring and encourage all of us to be good stewards of our state’s environment – in an entertaining and engaging way!”
