Thousands of people attended the annual PrideFest event, put on by Central Alabama Pride, at Sloss Furnaces on June 10. The annual Pride Parade was held the night before in downtown Birmingham.
The event featured local artisans, vendors and community organizations with both pride related and non-pride related merchandise, as well as activities for all. It was an all-day event, running from 11 a.m.–5 p.m., and featured performances from Chad Michaels, Rhea Litré, Derick Barry, Roxxy Andrews and Kimora Blac. Additional performances were held at the side stage near the entrance to the festival.
"These events provide attendees a fun and safe environment where they can be expressive while enjoying the entertainment, and experiencing all there will be to do," according to CAP's website.
