Attorney and school board member Randall Woodfin was the top vote-getter in the Birmingham mayoral race in the municipal election of Aug. 22.

He and Mayor William A. Bell, who is seeking his second full term, will meet in a run-off on October 3, since no candidate garnered more than 50 percent of the vote.

Woodfin led Bell by more than 1,500 votes. Contractor Chris Woods finished third, and the remaining candidates trailed the top three.

Results are unofficial and will be canvassed on Tuesday, Aug. 29, according to city clerk Lee Frazier.
