Iron City Ink takes home APA awards

A Birmingham community newspaper took home eight editorial awards at the 2021 Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.

Iron City Ink, which began in June 2016 as the neighborly news source for the communities in downtown Birmingham, has been under the leadership of editor Jesse Chambers since 2019. Chambers is a Birmingham resident and has been covering the city for 13 years.

Iron City Ink received the following awards:

This newspaper is part of Starnes Media. This year’s APA Better News Contest also favored the six other newspapers under the Starnes Media umbrella: Vestavia Voice, 280 LivingVillage Living, The Homewood Star, Hoover Sun, and Cahaba Sun.
