BPL's Bards & Brews to present virtual show May 7

by

Birmingham Public Library will present another virtual installment of Bards & Brews, its long-popular spoken-word and craft-beer event on Friday, May 7, at 6 p.m., on the event's Facebook page, according to a BPL news release.

Bards & Brews will again be hosted by Birmingham poet Brian “Voice Porter” Hawkins, who was featured in 2019 by the Starbucks Stories website

In April, Bards & Brews marked its first year of hosting virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"During these times, we want to stay connected and have an outlet to share creative expression," said Birmingham poet and Bards & Brews committee member Lee Green.

In its 11th year, Bards & Brews seeks to bring patrons of all age and races together, to promote the Birmingham craft beer industry and give poets a chance to share their talents.

Poets interested in registering for this event should forward their contact information to Bards.Brews@cobpl.org.

You can find the event on Facebook @BardsandBrews.
