Gingerbread men flipping through the air. Toy soldiers marching on high wires. Reindeer soaring high above the stage.

These are just a few of the sights audience members can expect to see if they buy tickets to “Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” a stage production coming to the BJCC Concert Hall on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7.

Presented by Cirque Productions, this touring show — it will be staged in nearly 60 cities during the holiday season — is said to combine a contemporary circus, a Broadway musical and a family-friendly Christmas extravaganza.

There will also be snowmen, penguins, candles, carolers and puppets flying and balancing on stage in “Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” along with Santa Claus and other holiday characters.

The music offers a contemporary twist on familiar holiday songs such as “Deck the Halls,” “Winter Wonderland” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”

The show features more than 300 costumes, 20 acts and 30 artists from around the world.

Many of these acts have been featured on TV’s “America’s Got Talent” and similar shows in other countries, according to a news release from the production.

Neil Goldberg, founder and artistic director of Cirque Dreams — with a showman’s requisite ballyhoo — calls the show a “multi-million-dollar holiday stage spectacular” in the news release.

The show has been praised by The New York Daily News as a “delicious confection of charm, sparkle and talent by the sleigh load.”

The Washington Post called it “dazzling.”

“Vegas meets family entertainment meets musical theater,” said The Boston Globe.

Based in Pompano Beach, Florida, Cirque Dreams was founded by Goldberg in 1993. The company has mounted elaborate stage productions on Broadway and major TV networks, in casinos and at two Super Bowls, the Miss Universe pageant and the Busch Gardens and Six Flags theme parks.

The company’s themed shows have included “Jungle Fantasy,” “Illumination” and “Pandemonia.”

Showtimes for “Cirque Dreams Holidaze” will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $39. To order, call 800-745-3000 or go to bjcc.org or cirqueproductions.com.
