Fishing Rodeo back at East Lake Park June 5

It’s summer. That means it’s time for the annual Fishing Rodeo at East Lake Park. The popular, family-friendly event will be held at the park on Saturday June 5, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

It is sponsored by Birmingham City Councilor Hunter Williams of District 2 and the Birmingham Parks and Recreation Board.

Attendees should bring their own bait and fishing equipment, but no fishing license is necessary to take part.

The event will happen rain or shine, and there will be food and other vendors on site.

There will also be some giveaways, including prizes for the first 10 fish and the 3 largest fish. 

The event was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
