September is food festival month in Birmingham, and one of the most sought-after events brought guests from all over to Sloss Furnaces.

Breakin' Bread, hosted by Birmingham Originals, celebrated its 15th anniversary with another year full of food, drinks and entertainment on Sunday, Sept. 24.

The event featured nearly three dozen restaurants, from Ocean to Vecchia Pizzeria, as well as several beverage vendors including Cathead Vodka and Alabev.

Again this year the event benefitted Jones Valley Teaching Farm.

Little Savannah Restaurant and Bar was awarded the first-ever "Best Bite" award for its blue crab crab cakes. The winner was chosen by the crowd, as guests were able to vote for their favorite dish of the day.
