The Alys Stephens Center at UAB will present LOCAL 2018, an outdoor, family-friendly event billed as “a celebration of everything Alabama,” at 5 p.m. June 16.

The free event, in its fifth year, will be held on Engel Plaza.

Local musicians will provide entertainment, an eclectic mix of Alabama artists and vendors will peddle their wares and local food trucks will be on site.

The musical headliner will be Love Moor, a soul and R&B singer from Ensley who recently performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, according to UAB Media Relations.

Other musical acts confirmed at press time were Chelsey Whild, Kate and the Howlers and Banditos, as well as emcee Shaun Judah and DJ RyNea Soul.

At least 20 vendors were confirmed at press time. Vendors offering food, snacks or beverages include Tarez Kitchen, BB’s Bread, Siah’s Lemonade Stand and Naughty But Nice Kettle Corn. Food trucks will include Big Spoon Creamery, City Bowls and Red Mountain Crawfish.

There will also be vendors selling art, decor, clothing and other items, including Anthony Tavis Folk Art, Eastaboga Bee Co., Bham Artsy Chicks, Earth Creations and Lindsay Brook Designs.
