Clad in pretzel necklaces and shorts, hundreds gathered at Sloss Furnaces for the Friday session of Magic City Brewfest.

Now in its 10th year, the brewfest brings together craft breweries from across the country and offers hundreds of beers to sample. The June 3 session included entertainment from Birmingham Mountain Radio, a cask garden from The J. Clyde and specialty beers from breweries.

Because Alabama law dictates beer samples cannot be "free," there was a penny-a-pour charge for samples. The money raised through the penny-a-pour charge will be donated to a local charity.

The Saturday session of the brewfest is June 4 from 4-8 p.m.
