PrideFest, a festival put on by Central Alabama Pride to bring together the LGBT community, was held at Sloss Furnaces on Sunday, July 11. The festival was the culmination of a 14 day celebration with different events held on each day. Events varied from dance lessons to a Pride Parade.

Vendors set up outside the entrance of Sloss Furnaces offering services, discounts to be used in stores and free merchandise. Many festival attendees arrived in rainbow garb and ranged in age from children to seniors. Many brought their dogs and relaxed in the shade as performers sang songs and spoke to the crowd.

Inside the gates, performers Billy Gilman from the Voice and Chi Chi DeVayne from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 were the main event, kicking off at noon on the main stage. Around 2 p.m. attendees participated in the Solidarity Rally which featured speakers and performers.
