The fifth annual SliceFest took over 29th Street S in Lakeview on Saturday, June 11. The music and food festival lasted from 1 p.m. until midnight and included performances from several bands.

The festival started as a party in the parking lot of Slice Pizza and Brewhouse but has turned into a block party that welcomes thousands each year. This year, the Bajalieh brothers, owners of Slice Pizza and Brewhouse, were able to present $10,000 to Suki Foundation, a Birmingham-based non-profit that aims to bring awareness about Rett syndrome as well as bring education to families with daughters who are affected.

A representative of the Suki Foundation thanked everyone attending SliceFest and the Bajalieh brothers for supporting their non-profit.
