TEDxBirmingham will present its sixth annual conference — with a diverse mix of 14 local speakers exploring the theme of life balance — May 3-4 at the Alys Stephens Center.

The conference will take place Friday, 6:30-8 p.m., and Saturday, 1:30-6 p.m.

Speakers include Gilberto Herrera, community entrepreneur; Jacqui Jones, marketing strategy architect; Brandi Lewis, blood disorder awareness educator; and Drew Ann Long, mother and entrepreneur.

The speakers will “focus on balancing wants, needs and perceptions in a way we hope will make the audience think about the broader concepts of how we find balance in our lives,” said co-organizer Rebecca Dobrinski.

The conference will be a two-day event for the first time, according to Dobrinski. There will be a cocktail reception and one speaker session on Friday evening, followed by optional group dinner outings. On Saturday, there will be two speaker sessions, an interactive session and an after party.

TEDxBirmingham is an independent, volunteer group operated under license from nonprofit organization TED.

Two-day tickets are $125, tickets for Friday only are $50 and tickets for Saturday only are $100. The event can also be viewed at Livestream.
