With just over two and a half months until the opening home series for the Birmingham Barons, the staff at Regions Field is busy getting ready for the start of baseball season.

The UAB Blazers will begin using the field in a few weeks, but in the meantime the venue has opened up to introduce local chambers of commerce, businesses and the greater community to its many event spaces.

On Thursday, representatives from area chambers were given a tour of Regions Field's different types of entertaining and game day facilities, from the Diamonds Direct Ballroom to the upper Party Deck.

Depending on the day of the week and size of the party, there are a variety of options for those looking to have a private event at a Barons home game, with many packages coming in at $32 per person, including tickets, food and beverages and rental fees.

Regions Field also offers non-game day event options, with a ballroom and patio combination that can fit up to 750 guests comfortably.

Group Sales Manager Tyler Gore said that the facility sees guests and events nearly 365 days a year, from full-out weddings to corporate meetings and luncheons.

The Barons are holding two more open houses this spring. The first, aimed at business owners and those looking to host more corporate events, will take place on Feb. 21, and the second and more family-friendly open house will take place on March 13. Both open houses will take place from 4-7 p.m.
