Birmingham Mayor Randall L. Woodfin has announced his reappointment of Lucien Blankenship and the appointment of Chris Rice to the Birmingham Water Works Board, according to a Jan. 12 city news release.

“I am pleased to appoint these two experienced and trusted professionals,” Woodfin said in the release.

An attorney with Blankenship and Associates, Blankenship is a member of the Alabama A&M University Board of Trustees and board chairman for Birmingham nonprofit economic development organization Urban Impact.

Rice has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miles College.

Blankenship was previously appointed by Mayor Woodfin in January 2020 to fill a vacancy on the board.

The appointments for Blankenship and Rice are effective immediately, and their terms expire Dec. 31, 2024.
