RUN IN COLOR FOR THE CCC

The Oak Mountain High School Student Government Association will host its third annual Color Run at Oak Mountain State Park on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to noon, and proceeds will benefit cancer research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The 5K race will start at 9 a.m., and participants will be doused with colorful, non-toxic, washable paint during the run.

A one-mile fun run will begin after the conclusion of the 5K.

Registration will be held at 8 a.m. and the opening ceremonies at 8:50 a.m.

Participants who pre-register will have the option to purchase an official Oak Mountain Color Run T-shirt. Those who register on the day of the race may bring their own white shirts.

Runners 18 and younger must have parents sign a waiver, which will be available on-site.

The event -- to be held rain or shine -- will also feature information booths, refreshments and special items for auction, and donations for the Comprehensive Cancer Center will be accepted on-site.

Oak Mountain State Park is located at 200 Terrace Drive in Pelham.

Park entrance fees are as follows: adults (ages 12 and up) $5; seniors (ages 62 and up) and children (ages 4-11) $2; children age 3 and under admitted free.
