An executive with a Birmingham real estate company will travel to Barcelona, Spain, on Oct. 21 to receive a prestigious business award.

Lindsay Davis, co-founder and COO of Spartan Invest, has been named a winner of a Bronze Stevie Award for 2017 in the 14th annual International Business Awards, according to a company news release.

Davis won her award in the Woman of the Year in the Banking, Financial Services and Real Estate category.

She is one of four women honored in her category, the only winner from Alabama in the management category and the only person from Birmingham in the competition, the release stated.

The Stevie Awards receive 10,000 nominations annually from 60 countries.

Spartan Invest is the operations company for Spartan Value Investors, a real estate investment firm.

Davis oversees $10 million in assets, manages the company’s retail portfolio of 382 rental properties and manages more than 200 vendors.

“Some very impressive business professionals will be there,” she said. “It is a big honor to represent Birmingham,” she said.

A Calhoun, Georgia, native, Davis graduated from The University of Alabama in 2007 and has lived in Birmingham for six years.

The company’s location between Highland Park and Five Points South is a good one, according to Davis.

“We’re close to everything downtown, and we’re also centrally located from all our rental markets,” she said.
