The Woodlawn Street Market is back for 2018.

The first market will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Saturday, April 7, on 55th Place South, according to a REV Birmingham news release.

The other Saturday markets will be June 9, Aug. 11 and Oct. 13, with a final market on Sunday, Dec. 2.

The markets draw hundreds of shoppers and up to 80 local vendors, including new or pop-up businesses who peddle art, jewelry, clothing, produce and prepared food.

At least 10 spaces at each 2018 market are reserved for first-time vendors, the release states.

“We’re looking forward to combining Woodlawn Street Market favorites with new participants this season,” market co-organizer Bekah Fox said.

Since 2014, the markets have helped test or launch about 350 vendors, according to Brian Gunn of REV Birmingham.

“[Woodlawn] is becoming more vibrant, and the main reason for the street market was to show the people inside and outside the community that there are positive things going on there,” Gunn told Iron City Ink in 2016.
