2019 Spring Walking Tour: Kiwanis Vulcan Trail - Mysteries of the Mountain

Each Spring, Vulcan Park and Museum hosts a series of Walking Tours highlighting the beauty of Birmingham’s neighborhoods and districts. Participants are invited to step into the shoes of the architects, visionaries, socialites, and entrepreneurs who sparked the magic in the Magic City.
The first series will be at the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail on March 23 and March 24. Join the Freshwater Land Trust for a special tour of the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail as part of the planned 750-mile Red Rock Ridge and Valley Trail System. Learn about the Birmingham Mineral Railroad, early ore mining on Red Mountain, how the use of this area has transformed from industrial to recreational and how the city skyline has changed over the years.
Space is limited! Reservations and payment are required in advance. Tour participants will be notified of the meeting
location for their tour during the week prior to the event. Cost - $10 for members and $12 for non-members.
