OLLI of Greater Birmingham presents Abigail Adams, with instructor Richard Rhone, retired History Instructor. An advocate of women's rights, Abigail Adams was one of America's most important women; she was her husband John Adams' most influential political counselor. Lacking in formal education, but possessing a superior intellect, she expressed her opinions about politics, religion and education and the place of women in the new America. Only in the last few decades has research, especially of the over 2000 letters she wrote, shown us how astute a politician she was and how much she influenced our country.
