Details:
This year’s Holiday Open House at Studio By The Tracks is more exciting than ever! Not only will you find one of a kind artworks by SBTT Artists and lots of great items like bags, pillows, tees, and more inside, but you can also shop over 15 independent local artists and makers from our community who will be setting up shop outside the Studio. There will also be a virtual art auction component to the sale featuring works from generous donating artists from Birmingham and beyond - all proceeds of which will benefit the Studio.
Studio By The Tracks provides adult artists on the autism spectrum with access to all the resources they need to pursue a creative career path in the arts. SBTT’s artists receive art supplies and materials, instruction and guidance as needed, and artist representation at no cost. Studio Artists receive 60% of all sales of their works, and the remaining proceeds go directly back to SBTT’s programs. The Studio also serves children with diagnoses of severe emotional disorders with a weekly art curriculum.
When the studio and gallery were forced to close earlier this year with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the studio creatively adapted to continue to serve their artists by administering art supplies to their 60+ artists, moving their children's program curriculum to a remote learning format, checking in with their artists via video chat regularly, and hosting online Web Shows so their artists could continue to receive a revenue stream from art sales. The Studio has reopened in recent weeks, safely meeting in smaller, outdoor groups, and their Studio Artists couldn’t be more excited to share their works at this year’s Holiday Open House and Market.
This November 21st, Studio By The Tracks welcomes you to their location in Irondale to celebrate art, community, neurodiversity, and the gift giving season.
Can’t show up in person? The Studio’s online art auction will be a great option.
Attendees of the Studio’s Online Silent Art Auction will have the option to view, purchase, and bid on 35 pieces that have been generously donated by independent artists in support of the Studio’s work and mission. Access to the online auction is free of cost. The link to enter the auction will be posted to www.studiobythetracks.org/holiday at 9am on Saturday, November 21st. SBTT Newsletter subscribers will also receive the link via email that morning. The auction will conclude on Sunday, November 22nd at 8pm.
