The Forest Park South Avondale Business Association is pleased to announce the schedule for the sixth annual Movies in Avondale Park presented by Wells Fargo. To pay homage to the first zoo in the Magic City originally at Avondale Park, this year’s events will also feature a partnership with the Birmingham Zoo, including an Animal Encounter night on Sunday, June 11 where event attendees can get up close and personal with several zoo animals. Additionally, two showings will be held at Crestwood Park this year.
Movies in Avondale Park is also proud to announce a partnership with the Avondale branch of the Birmingham Public Library and Avondale United Methodist Church to host Tuesdays in Avondale. Starting at 5:30 p.m. on June 6, June 13 and June 20, families are invited to attend a free community cook-out at the church located at 500 40th St. S. followed by the event at the library beginning at 6 p.m. and the movie at 8:15 p.m.

Several day admission passes and family membership passes to the Birmingham Zoo will be given away at every movie. There are other chances to win passes to Alabama Splash Adventure from the library. In order to win those, children must attend the library’s event and Movies in Avondale Park’s film screening the same day, take and post a selfie at the library and movie screening to Facebook and tag Pepsi, Avondale Library and Movies at Avondale Park to be eligible for the giveaway.
