Join us to learn all about one of our favorite birds, the chimney swift! Our Science & Conservation Director, Dr. Lianne Koczur, will discuss the general ecology of chimney swifts, threats that the species faces, and conservation efforts for swifts here in Alabama.
Interested in taking action to help conservation efforts on behalf of chimney swifts? Join also to learn about the Alabama SwiftWatch community science program—why we started it, how you can participate, the data we have collected so far, and what to expect for this fall. Whether you are a current SwiftWatch volunteer or are considering signing up, this will be a great start to the 2021 SwiftWatch season, which starts at the end of July!
Where and when do we meet? This online course meets on Tuesday, June 22nd, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. CDT. It will be an hour-long online course with time at the end for questions.
