This article is incorrect

Mr. Chambers,

In this article, you have an error. You state that “Barber made such a proposal about a decade ago for a development to be called The Crest on Red Mountain, but the council at the time refused to rezone the property for multifamily use after opposition from residents, according to bhamwiki.com.”

This is incorrect. The Birmingham City Council actually approved rezoning the property to R-6 multi-family on a 6-1 vote. Since I can't add an attachment here, I have emailed Sydney a copy of a Birmingham News article that was written at the time. If you will email me, I will send you a copy of the article. At least regarding this topic, BhamWiki appears to be unreliable.

I would appreciate your making the correction as soon as possible.

In the future, if you decide to write an article about George Barber, The Barber Companies, The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum or the Barber Motorsports Park, please consider me a resource for information.

Best regards,

Don
