Birmingham’s planned Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT) will be “a transformative project” for the city, said Mayor Randall Woodfin at the regular meeting of the Birmingham City Council for Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Area residents can learn more about the BRT — to be called the Birmingham Xpress — and give their feedback at a series of public involvement meetings this week, Woodfin said.
Meetings will be held at the following times and locations:
- Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019: BJCTA boardroom, 1801 Morris Ave, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 21: BJCTA boardroom, 9-11 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 24: Birmingham Crossplex, 2337 Bessemer Road, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The BJCTA also hosted a meeting on Tuesday morning, as well as meetings in October and February.
