This is an ongoing article that will be updated with event cancellations/rescheduling in regards to the COVID-19 coronavirus in the Birmingham area. 3/31/20 - 280 / Hoover
- The city of Hoover has postponed three major city events planned for April and May: Celebrate Hoover Day (an annual citywide celebration that was scheduled for April 25 at Veterans Park); the city's Household Hazardous Waste Day (which was scheduled for May 2 in the Hoover High School parking lot) and the Hoover Mayor's Prayer Breakfast (which had been scheduled for May 8 at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham — The Wynfrey Hotel). City officials said the events were postponed due to the governor's order extending prohibitions against crowds gathering until April 17 and the president extending social distancing guidelines through April 30.
3/31/20 - Vestavia Hills
- The Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce has canceled the April 13 luncheon and the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, previously scheduled for April 28, has been postponed to a later date to be determined.
3/26/20 - 280 / Hoover
- The Hoover Library Theatre is postponing performances scheduled for The Kingdom Choir on April 21-22 and the Live From Laurel Canyon tour on May 7-8 until the performances can be rescheduled. Ticket holders who would like a refund can request that through links at hooverlibrary.org/thelibrarytheatre. There also is a place for ticket holders to indicate if they would rather donate their tickets for someone else's use in the future or hold onto their tickets for when the performances are rescheduled.

- The Hoover Board of Zoning Adjustment meeting that was scheduled for Monday, March 23, at the Hoover Senior Center has been canceled.

- The Denim & Dining fundraiser for the Hoover City Schools Foundation - Postponed and will be rescheduled

- The Climb to Remember stair climb fundraiser - Postponed indefinitely

- The PGA Regions Tradition golf tournament - Rescheduled to Sept. 23-27 at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover
